QNS was founded in late 1997 when owner/founder, Mel Workman, was asked by a good friend to assist in some technology challenges at the local high school in Sullivan, Illinois.  Workman was employed at that time by a local manufacturing company as their IT person.  He quickly realized that schools were not effectively utilizing technology to improve the K-12 educational environment.   Within a short time, Workman was dedicating himself to bettering K-12 technology to assist teachers throughout Central Illinois and subsequently the Midwest.

As of 2022, QNS serves over 160+ school districts in Illinois and Missouri, keeping technology reliable and affordable for educators.   QNS prides itself on serving K-12 technology and is still headquartered at its roots in Sullivan, Illinois.
