What Is Google Workspace for Education Support from QNS?
QNS helps K-12 districts set up, manage, and secure Google Workspace for Education, from the Admin console and Google Classroom to Chromebook management and student account provisioning. We handle the technical side so your teachers can focus on teaching, and we work alongside your existing IT staff or act as your Google admin team if you do not have one. QNS has worked exclusively with school districts since 1997 and supports more than 200 districts.
Most districts adopted Google Workspace quickly and grew into it one school year at a time. The result is often an Admin console with years of inconsistent settings, sharing permissions nobody has reviewed, and storage that is now pooled and limited across the whole district. Getting it organized pays off in fewer help desk tickets, safer student data, and a platform teachers trust.

Why QNS is the Trusted Choice for Google Workspace for Education
K-12 Google Expertise
We work only with schools, so Classroom, Chromebooks, rostering, and student accounts are our everyday work.
Built to Work With Your Team
Your staff keep ownership of daily IT. We add the Admin console depth and project capacity a small team cannot staff on its own.
Security and Privacy Built In
Sharing controls, MFA, and data protection configured with FERPA, COPPA, and state student privacy laws in mind.
Support That Includes Teachers
Practical training and rollout help, so the tools actually get used in classrooms.
What We Typically Find in District Google Environments
Most districts do not have one big problem in Google Workspace. They have a set of small ones that built up over years of fast adoption. The pattern matters more than any single finding: a messy organizational structure makes every policy, app approval, and security setting harder to get right.
Disorganized Org Units
Organizational units that no longer match buildings, grades, or staff roles.
Open Sharing Settings
Drive files and Shared Drives shared more widely than anyone intended.
Storage Running Short
Pooled storage filling up with old accounts, duplicate files, and unmanaged video.
Unreviewed Third-Party Apps
Apps connected to student accounts without review or a data privacy agreement.
Missing Account Protection
Staff and admin accounts without multifactor authentication or recovery controls.
What Google Workspace for Education Support Includes
Our support covers the full life of your Google environment. Four areas that work together, because a well-built setup still drifts without ongoing management, and strong security still fails if staff do not know how to use it.
Setup and Migration
New tenant setup or a cleanup of an existing one, including domain verification, organizational units, and account provisioning from your student information system. For districts moving from another platform, we plan and run the migration of email, files, and calendars around the school calendar so classes are not disrupted.
Ongoing Administration
Day-to-day management of the Admin console, including user lifecycle at the start and end of each school year, licensing across Education Fundamentals, Standard, and Plus, Chromebook and device policies, and Google Classroom settings. Your team gets a single point of contact for the requests that eat up their week.
Security and Compliance
Multifactor authentication for staff, sharing and external access controls, data loss prevention where your edition supports it, and third-party app access reviews. Settings are aligned with FERPA, COPPA, and state student privacy requirements so the platform supports your compliance obligations instead of creating new ones.
Training and Adoption
Practical, role-based training for teachers, office staff, and administrators, plus rollout support when you introduce new tools. Training focuses on what staff use every day, from Classroom and Drive sharing to Meet and Calendar, so adoption sticks after the first week.
If Your District Needs Broader IT Coverage
Google Workspace support covers the platform your classrooms run on. Districts that also need help with the devices, networks, and security around it typically add managed IT services, network infrastructure, or School Shield for 24/7 cybersecurity monitoring alongside it.
We will tell you which of those your district actually needs. Not all of them, and not the largest package we can assemble. For districts without IT staff or a provider in place, our K-12 Security Services and K-12 IT Services cover the full picture.
Supporting Google Workspace Services
QNS also provides the services that keep a district’s Google environment organized, protected, and affordable over time. Our supporting Google Workspace services for K-12 education include the following...
Chromebook Management
Enrollment, device policies, app and extension controls, and lost or stolen device handling through the Google Admin console, so every student device starts the day ready for class.
Storage Management
Google Workspace for Education gives each district 100 TB of pooled storage, with more added per license on Education Plus. We help districts monitor usage, clean up inactive accounts, and set storage policies before limits become a problem.
Backup and Recovery
Third-party backup for Gmail, Drive, and Shared Drives, so deleted files and compromised accounts can be restored. Google's built-in retention is not the same as a backup, and districts are often surprised by the difference.
Rostering and Integrations
Account provisioning and syncing between Google Workspace, your student information system, and the classroom apps your teachers rely on, so new students and staff have working accounts on day one.
Choosing the Right Google Workspace for Education Edition
Google offers four editions for schools: Education Fundamentals at no cost for qualifying institutions, plus the paid Education Standard, Teaching and Learning Upgrade, and Education Plus. The paid editions add security tools, advanced Classroom and Meet features, and additional pooled storage on Education Plus.
Many districts pay for more than they use, or run on Fundamentals while missing security features a paid edition would provide. QNS reviews how your district actually uses Google Workspace and recommends the edition and license mix that fits, so your budget goes to features your staff and students will use.

Here’s What the Google Workspace Assessment Covers
Every free assessment ends with a clear, readable report written to be shared with your superintendent or board, not a raw scan output.
Overall Configuration Health
A clear picture of how your Admin console is set up today and where it has drifted.
Sharing and Access Exposure
Files, Shared Drives, and settings that expose student or staff data more widely than intended.
Account Security Gaps
Staff and admin accounts missing multifactor authentication or recovery protection.
Storage and Licensing
How close you are to pooled storage limits and whether your editions match your needs.
Connected Apps
Third-party apps with access to student data that have not been reviewed.

Common Questions About Google Workspace for Education
Does this replace our existing IT team or provider?
No. It is designed to work alongside your current staff, tools, and providers. Districts most often add it because their team handles day-to-day support well but does not have the time to manage the Admin console, plan migrations, or keep settings current from year to year.
Can you help us migrate from Microsoft 365 or another platform?
Yes. We plan migrations around your school calendar, move email, files, and calendars, and set up accounts and organizational units before cutover, so staff and students start on the new platform with minimal disruption.
Which Google Workspace for Education edition do we need?
It depends on your security needs, video and Classroom requirements, and storage use. Many districts can run well on Education Fundamentals with the right configuration, while others benefit from Education Standard or Plus. We review your usage and recommend the right fit.
Do you also manage Chromebooks?
Yes. Chromebook enrollment, policies, and app controls are managed through the same Google Admin console, and we handle them as part of the same support.
How long does the free assessment take?
The review is not disruptive to district operations and does not require taking systems offline. The output is a written report you can read, share, and act on at your own pace.
What happens if you find something serious?
We tell you plainly, explain what it means in practical terms, and lay out what fixing it would involve. The assessment is not conditional on buying anything, and the report is yours regardless of what you decide to do next.

Technology is constantly growing and changing. It is very costly and difficult for a small rural school to stay current and provide resources that afford our students the same reliable networks as students in larger districts. Since QNS first expanded into Missouri, they have provided tremendous support for me as a Superintendent, from network support down to recommending the best equipment and installation. I am thankful for their guidance and knowledge about all things relating to technology. They truly are a partner in education and I couldn't imagine running a district without them.
